Age Limit
Basic Age Limit: Must be 21 to 32 years
Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST: +5 years
- OBC: +3 years
- Defence personnel (disabled in operations): +3 years
- Ex-servicemen (including ECOs/SSCOs* with ≥5 years’ service): +5 years
- PwBD candidates: +10 years
- Cumulative Relaxation: SC/ST/OBC + PwBD/Ex-servicemen relaxations can be combined.
Valid Proof of Age: Only Matriculation / Secondary School Certificate or equivalent (issued before applying). No other documents (affidavit, horoscope, etc.) accepted.
Change in DOB: Not allowed once recorded by UPSC.

Minimum Educational Qualification
Must hold a Graduate Degree from:
- A Central/State University,
- An institution established by an Act of Parliament, or
- A deemed University under UGC Act, 1956, or
- An equivalent qualification recognized by the Government.
Appearing Candidates: Final-year students or those awaiting results can apply, but must produce proof of passing before the Interview.
Accepted Proof: Degree Certificate / Final Marksheet / Provisional Certificate issued by the competent authority.
(For MBBS/BDS, proof of internship completion is required.)
Special Cases:
- UPSC may accept equivalent qualifications if the standard is deemed suitable.
- Professional/technical degrees recognized by Government are valid.
- MBBS/medical graduates without internship can apply provisionally with a passing certificate; must show final proof at interview.

OBC: 9 attempts.
PwBD:
- General/EWS/OBC: 9 attempts
- SC/ST: Unlimited
FEE
Fee Amount: ₹100/-
Exempted Categories (No Fee):
- Female candidates
- SC/ST candidates
- Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) (must upload valid disability certificate)
No Exemption:
- OBC and EWS candidates must pay the full fee.
Main Exam Fee: Additional ₹200 for those qualified for Mains (except exempted categories).
Important Notes: Fee once paid is non-refundable and non-transferable.
Applications without fee or valid exemption will be rejected.
